Original date of building unknown, it was repaired in the 24th year of the Daoguang reign period (1844). The structure faces west and is oriented between the Sage Mother Hall and the Dressing Tower. The front portion of the building looks like a worship hall, and the back is a stage. Gao Ruxing, Taiyuan xianzhi, shows a yuelou 樂樓 stage in that location, so a stage was located here as early as 1551. The structure is considered to be Ming dynasty, with Qing dynasty restoration to the stage portion. Tiles on the roof ridge of the Water Mirror Terrace are dated to the first year of the Wanli reign period (1573).
